About
WE ARE TAKING ON THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST WATER PROBLEMS
Katz Water Technologies (KWT) will provide solutions to the worldwide problem of fresh water supplies being rapidly depleted. KWT will initially focus on the oil and gas water management problem. KWT’s solution provides novel operations that will purify contaminated produced water while profitably recycling the components of the purification process. This solution reduces produced water disposal costs of oil and gas producers at the well sites. The reduction in costs is enabled by novel patented equipment and systems powered with available gas at the well sites to purify contaminated produced water. The patented equipment modifies heat exchangers to internally thermally distill and separate pure water vapor from contaminated water using the existing energy in the heat exchanger. This equipment fundamentally changes traditional thermal distillation by performing multiple distillation processes inside only one equipment piece and significantly reduces equipment, energy and transportation costs through onsite purification of produced water.
KWT is developing a solar thermal X-VAP system to purify water with no electricity or fuel consumption. This technology will provide a sustainable source of freshwater from previously unusable sources to end users without access to energy sources or those looking to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.
